As primary eye care providers, our doctors manage most eye diseases, and we work closely with specialists to co-manage surgical cases.
Glaucoma
Glaucoma is a serious eye condition that damages the optic nerve and causes irreversible vision loss. By the time a patient with glaucoma experiences vision loss, the disease has advanced, and the lost vision cannot be regained. The only way to prevent vision loss from glaucoma is to have regular comprehensive eye exams. Our physicians monitor for early detection of glaucoma and help patients prevent vision loss.
Macular Degeneration
The macula is the central area of the retina. When the macula breaks down over time, a dark or blind spot develops in the center of the patient’s vision. There are two forms of macular degeneration: dry (non-neovascular) and wet (neovascular). Age-related macular degeneration is the leading cause of vision loss. If you are experiencing changes in vision, you should have a comprehensive vision exam.
Diabetic Eye Disease Management
Diabetes can impact your vision, so it’s important that diabetic patients have regular eye exams. During these exams we will pay special attention to your retina to monitor for diabetic retinopathy.
AUTOIMMUNE TREATMENT Monitoring
Plaquenil, or hydroxychloroquine, is a common treatment for autoimmune diseases that can have side effects on your vision, including retinopathy. For patients who take this medication, it’s important to have regular eye exams that include retinal imaging.
Dry Eye Disease And Treatment
Chronic dry eyes can be painful and leave you vulnerable to infection and disease while also degrading your vision. Dry eye impacts your daily life and impacts a high percentage of Americans. We can provide interventions to control your dry eye and restore comfort.
Our dry eye evaluations include diagnostic testing such as Tearlab to evaluate the homeostatic quality and consistency of your tear film. We tailor our individual treatment plans to break the cycle of inflammation and dryness

Cataract Surgery Co-Management
Cataracts are the clouding of the eye’s natural lens and the most common cause of vision loss in people over age 40. Symptoms include blurred vision, sensitivity to light, trouble driving at night due to increased glare, and duller colors. Eventually, cataracts progress to the point that the patients vision impairment is significant. Then it’s time for cataract surgery. Our doctors will explain your options, refer you to an eye surgeon, and co-manage your recovery.
Refractive Surgery Co-Management
Lasik and other refractive surgeries can correct your vision surgically to reduce or eliminate your need for glasses or contact lenses. Not all prescriptions are suited to refractive surgery, and our doctors can help you decide if this step is right for you. We also provide follow-up care as your eyes heal and adjust.
Retinal Detachment Co-Management
A retinal detachment happens with the retina pulls away from the back of the eye, causing a reduction in vision. If you experience sudden flashing lights or “floaters,” you may be at risk for a retinal detachment. If you experience any sudden change in your vision, call our office immediately. We can diagnose the issue and refer you to a retinal specialist quickly.
